David & Danielle’s Outstanding Autumn Wedding

September is one of the most popular months for weddings, which is unsurprising as not only are days cooler and still long, but the month falls in that sweet spot for lovely weather and atmospheric lighting. Not to mention that our venue boasts incredible countryside views which glow golden during the autumn season

David and Danielle were blessed with the perfect early autumn day to celebrate their love for one another, and booking an overnight stay with us also meant they were able to extend their celebrations with family and close friends. What could be more romantic?

An Incredible Venue

Danielle shared her favourite things about Southdowns Manor that helped her and David say ‘I do’ to our venue: “The location of the venue was beautiful – even when we visited on a grey and gloomy day, Southdowns Manor still looked incredible. And the fact we could stay overnight and have breakfast the next day with some of our friends and family.”

Did you know when you book a two-day wedding with us you’ll have use of all our bar facilities and exclusive use of our house and grounds, so you and your guests can unwind in complete privacy with everything taken care of?

Theme & Styling

Danielle and David opted for a muted colourway for their wedding day, saying: “We went for a sage green and white colour scheme.”

The groom and groomsmen wore grey suits, white waistcoats and sage green ties/pocket squares. The bride wore a gorgeous white fitted wedding dress, veil and a wavy half-updo. The bridesmaids were dressed in sage green satin dresses to complement the colour scheme.

Danielle’s bridal bouquet was made up of white roses and eucalyptus. Gypsophila was chosen for the bridesmaids and groomsmen’s buttonholes.

Our newlyweds’ wedding cake was lovingly homemade by a good friend. The three-tier masterpiece included three uniquely different flavours – white chocolate and lemon curd, biscoff and carrot cake – and was decorated with eucalyptus and white flowers.

Photography & Videography

David and Danielle had the talented Tim Hills Photography in charge of capturing their wedding day memories. The pair wanted natural shots with specific couple, family andclose friend shots. Tim knows our venue very well, having photographed many weddings here in the past, and is an expert when it comes to knowing where the lighting is just right!

While our newlyweds did not have an official videographer on site, lots of video footage was collected by a close friend who took clips throughout the day to make into a video.

Outstanding In Every Way

When we asked Danielle and David what their favourite moments of the wedding day were, the pair replied, “Everything! It was all amazing, every single second!”

Their advice to future couples looking to tie the knot with us was, “Definitely choose this venue! It is outstanding in every single way and you will have the best day!”
