Demi & James’s Whirlwind Disco Wedding

Don’t fancy waiting to tie the knot? At Southdowns Manor, we are here and ready to assist you with executing your perfect wedding day at very short notice.

Demi and James’s whirlwind wedding is the perfect example of how we were able to bring their wedding day dream to life in just five short months.

Take a look behind the scenes at how their special day came together seamlessly in a matter of months, complete with a very funky theme and an appearance from a very special ring-bearer…

“From the moment we stepped foot in Southdowns Manor for our initial visit, the team made us feel so welcome and we immediately knew that this was the place we wanted to get married.

“The venue itself was beautiful and we loved how the interior was neutral so that we could get really creative with the decor. The venue struck a great balance between modern and luxurious, which we loved too.

“We first visited in December on a rainy, miserable day, and even in bad weather we were still blown away by how incredible the setting was. We also wanted to get married in five months, and the team reassured us that this was easily doable, which was a huge selling point too.”

A wedding is a celebration, and James and Demi’s theme certainly perpetuated that notion! “We had a disco theme for our wedding – lots of pink, red and disco balls!

“We had an outside ceremony and decided to use the venue’s cream carpet, and pink and red chair sashes. We also added a flower arch to the pergola, and flowers at the end of some of the rows. A few disco balls were thrown in for good measure too!

“We used Southdowns Manor’s easels for our welcome sign and table plan, as well as their cake stand.”

The Styling

Demi’s dress featured a delicate lace bodice with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a wide full skirt decorated with flecks of glitter. Her bridal look was completed with a long veil embellished with glittery gems and pearl accessories.

James donned a moss-coloured double-breasted suit with a pink tie and pocket square. A flat cap finished off his dapper look.

The bridesmaids’ candy pink dresses coordinated flawlessly with the groomsmen’s light grey suits, pink ties, and pocket squares.

The Photography

Our bride and groom chose the brilliant Joanna Cleeve – one of our recommended suppliers – to photograph and immortalise their special day.

“We liked the fact that Joanna specialised in getting natural shots as neither of us were particularly confident in front of the camera. We also liked how Joanna was a recommended supplier of the venue and knew it inside and out.”

Stand Out Memories

This lovely couple wanted to make sure everyone was involved in their special day, and that included their adorable dog, Travis, acting as ring-bearer!

“Having Travis involved and playing such an integral part of our ceremony was so special and I love how we have the pictures and memories to look back on.

“All our guests commented on how brilliant it was to have him involved and that he stole the show. I would definitely recommend having more pets at weddings!”

Our Team

“The whole team at Southdowns Manor really went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. From the moment we went for our initial visit, the team made us feel so welcome and we immediately knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. The venue itself was beautiful and we loved how the interior was neutral so that we could put our own spin on it with the decor.

“A particular shout out goes to Lucy Summers [Wedding Coordinator]. Lucy was amazing at keeping us on track when organising the wedding (especially as we were doing it all in five months) and was so thorough in the planning. We had a unique vision for our wedding and Lucy really shared our excitement for the theme which made the planning process even more enjoyable.”

Little Touches

“We had the best day of our lives, and all the little touches really helped to make it perfect. On the day, we were given a special pudding, a personalised cake knife, our jacuzzi bath was filled up when we went up to the honeymoon suite, and our wedding cake and a bottle of champagne were waiting for us too. None of this we were expecting, but we were really blown away by how kind and generous these acts were.”

Helping Bring Your Vision To Life

Demi’s words of wisdom for future couples looking to tie the knot at Southdowns Manor?

“Relax! The team at Southdowns Manor have absolutely everything under control and there’s no need to panic. I felt so relaxed on the run-up to the wedding as I really trusted the team and knew how thorough and organised they were. On the day, they helped to bring our vision to life, and in fact, make it even better.

“We felt so calm and relaxed in the lead up to the wedding (I think our families were more stressed than us!), and that’s purely because we knew that Lucy and the team were so organised. Being able to use a lot of the venue’s decor (e.g. chair sashes) and the in-house catering also took a lot of the stress away, meaning that we could relax and enjoy the run-up to the wedding.

“Everything went perfectly on the day – the sun shone, the food and drinks were amazing, timings were kept to and everyone had so much fun. In fact, quite a few of our guests have told us that it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to – including their own! – which I think really goes to show how amazing the venue is, and how hard the team at Southdowns Manor work.”

Wishing you both all the love and happiness together!
