Michelle & Antony’s Autumnal Two-Day Wedding

Did you know that at Southdowns Manor we offer our couples the opportunity to extend their wedding celebrations to two days? That means you and your nearest and dearest can luxuriate in our manor house and immaculately maintained grounds for longer, enjoying each other’s company and getting taken care of by our friendly team.

This is the perfect option for couples wanting to feel relaxed and comfortable in the lead-up to their special day in our home-away-from-home. It’s exactly this that made Michelle and Antony choose to book their two-day wedding with us…

An Exclusive Use Venue

Southdowns Manor is proud to be an exclusive use (or ‘sole use’) wedding venue.

This means that when you book our venue, you can rest assured that our manor house and grounds are entirely at your disposal for the duration of your booking. You won’t have to deal with any unwanted interruptions or visitors – the venue is yours alone!

Antony and Michelle both said that what made them fall in love with Southdowns Manor was “the grounds and the venue being sole use.”

The Theme

Autumn is such a special time at Southdowns Manor. The colours of the leaves and landscape change into warm yellow, orange and red tones and we can’t forget to mention that spectacular golden hour glow as the evenings get cooler and shorter.

Our bride and groom decided to work with the season to transform our venue into a cosy autumnal haven, explaining, “We didn’t have a set theme but wanted everything to blend in with the surroundings, so we went with autumnal colours.”

The Styling & Colour Scheme

The couple chose an autumnal colour scheme for their wedding day, in keeping with the October colour palette.

Their flowers were in autumnal colours (deep reds and oranges) and featured dahlias predominantly. Michelle added, “Our flowers could be used from ceremony to reception so everything was reused throughout the day.”

Antony and the groomsmen wore smart rustic brown tweed suits, while Michelle wore a stunning embellished A-line ivory gown. The bridesmaids were dressed in navy blue dresses, immaculately off-setting the oranges and reds of the flowers.

The Photography

Capturing every magical moment for the pair was the wonderful Katie from Clearly Wild Photography. Michelle and Antony gave Katie a creative licence to capture their wedding as she saw fit as they didn’t have a particular style in mind. Sometimes being open-minded and trustworthy with your photographer means you get some really beautiful and unexpected outcomes – as you can see here!

Stand Out Moments

Our couple said that their stand-out moment from their special day was the fact that they were able to say their vows outdoors: “The option of having the ceremony outside and the weather on our wedding day was beautiful so we definitely had the ceremony outside.”

Michelle and Antony also had a harpist present during their ceremony, which was a lovely touch and created a beautiful atmosphere.

We Recommend A Two Day Wedding

Michelle and Antony made the most of being able to spend that extra day surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

“We would definitely get married at Southdowns Manor again. It was amazing and we had the best day! We would definitely recommend having Southdowns for the two days – the night before was so relaxing and it was great to spend the evening with everyone.”

“Thank you Southdowns, we would highly recommend you to anyone getting married.”

Congratulations to you both!
