DIY Wedding Paper Pom Poms
We love the idea of making your own wedding pom poms. They are super easy and a brilliant way to decorate your venue. The great thing about them is they can easily be made to complement your chosen wedding scheme.
What you need:
Tissue paper
String
Scissors
Instructions:
1. Cut 5 pieces of tissue paper into the shape of a square. Bigger squares mean bigger pom poms. Layer the five pieces over each other so all of the four edges meet.
2. Fold it around 5 times so it is concertina.
3. Fold the tissue paper in half. Tie the centre with a piece of string. Snip off any excess string with your scissors.
4. Cut both ends of your folded tissue paper in a curve. This will make the scalloped edges or petals of the pom pom.
5. Slowly and gently, unfurl your pom pom by pulling up one layer at a time towards the centre. If you accidentally tear a layer, please do not worry. The tissue paper will hide any errors you might come across!
(YouTube has many videos on how to make Pom Poms if you are struggling to follow these instructions).
Our top tip is to put the pom poms in a container to stop you squashing them before your big day!
