Southdowns Manor
An Exclusive-Use Hampshire Wedding Venue in the South Downs
WEDDING VENUE HAMPSHIRE
Picture an exclusive-use wedding venue on the Hampshire border. A restored manor house with luxurious facilities, set in the South Downs National Park with countryside as far as the eye can see.
Southdowns Manor sits just outside Petersfield, where Hampshire meets West Sussex, which is exactly why couples from Portsmouth, Winchester, Guildford and London all call it theirs. When you book your wedding here, the whole manor is yours: every room, the gardens, the ceremony spaces, and the surrounding countryside. No other events, no other couples, no shared spaces. Just your wedding, your guests, and your day.
With room for up to 150 guests, you can plan anything from an intimate ceremony to a grand celebration. And when the evening winds down, nobody has to say goodbye. Your closest family and friends can stay overnight in our 14 guest rooms while you retire to the Honeymoon Suite.

Exclusively Yours for the Day
Exclusive use isn't just something we offer. It's the foundation of everything at Southdowns Manor. From the moment your guests arrive to the last person heading up to bed, the entire property is reserved for your wedding party alone.
That means you can move freely between spaces, take photographs wherever the light is best, and let the evening run exactly as you want it to. Couples tell us time and again that this is what makes the day feel so relaxed and so personal.

HAMPSHIRE WEDDINGS
A Backdrop That Does Half the Work
The manor sits inside the South Downs National Park, with rolling hills and open countryside in every direction: the kind of backdrop wedding photographers dream about.
Step inside and the contrast is part of the charm. Contemporary comfort in a classically decorated manor house, landscaped gardens for golden-hour photographs, and a team who tailor the day around the two of you, which is what makes Southdowns Manor one of the most loved wedding venues in Hampshire.
Stay the Night in One of 15 Beautiful Bedrooms
One of the things couples value most is not having to say goodnight at the end of the evening. Southdowns Manor has 14 guest rooms, including two luxury double suites, plus the magnificent Honeymoon Suite reserved for the two of you.

The Honeymoon Suite
The Honeymoon Suite comes with a four-poster bed, a large circular bath, a walk-in shower and unrestricted views over the National Park.
Fancy a glass of champagne in the bath after a day of celebrating? It’s that kind of room. The perfect place to end the best day and start the rest of your lives.
Gorgeous Rooms for Your Wedding Guests
Your guests’ rooms are designed for a peaceful night’s sleep, so everyone wakes refreshed for a leisurely breakfast together, the perfect ending to the celebration.
For guests beyond our room count, there are hotels and inns in and around Petersfield and Midhurst we’re happy to recommend.
Flexible Options For Your Wedding Ceremony
Southdowns Manor is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships, with indoor and outdoor settings to choose from, and St George's Church in Trotton moments away for church weddings.
Church Weddings
Marry at St George’s Church in Trotton, a Grade I listed building dating from the 14th century, just moments from the manor. It’s a hidden gem brimming with historical beauty, and a favourite with couples planning a church wedding.
Once you’ve said ‘I do’, Southdowns Manor awaits for your reception with loved ones.
Winter Weddings
Dreaming of a winter wedding? The Downs have their own magic in the colder months: crisp air, candlelight, open fires and the kind of atmosphere that makes everyone want to stay a little longer.
Picture wintry photographs in the grounds, then a cosy indoor ceremony surrounded by the people you love.
Civil Ceremonies
The manor holds a civil ceremony licence, so you can say ‘I do’ inside the elegant Ceremony Room or outdoors beneath the garden gazebo, open to the countryside on every side.
Either way, the team will tailor the ceremony around the two of you.
Intimate Weddings
Large gatherings aren’t for everyone. If you’re hoping to share your vows with a small group of your favourite people, we know how to make an intimate ceremony and reception feel personal rather than pared back.
You invite the people dearest to you, and we’ll do the rest.
Whirlwind Weddings
Some couples don’t want to wait to say ‘I do’. While many venues require bookings months in advance, we offer a short-notice booking service whenever availability allows.
We can’t always guarantee your exact date, but we’ll do our best to find a close one, with full exclusive use included as always.
Two-Day Weddings
Why have one wedding day when you can have two?
Arrive the day before, gather your closest family and friends for dinner, then wake up ready to celebrate with no early starts and no clock-watching.

A Setting Worth Travelling For
Southdowns Manor sits in the South Downs National Park near Trotton, four miles from the market town of Petersfield. Harting Down and the South Downs Way are on the doorstep for couples (and guests) who love a view; Uppark House and Garden, Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Butser Hill are all within a short drive for anyone making a weekend of it.
Getting here is easy from every direction: Petersfield station has direct trains from London Waterloo in around an hour and ten minutes, and the A3 puts Portsmouth, Winchester and Guildford all within easy reach. It's why couples searching across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey keep finding their way to us. The borders meet here, and so do their guest lists.
