Our luxury wedding venue is part of the South Downs National Park, and we’re lucky to have this incredible backdrop. Imagine rolling hills and lush green countryside at every corner, with the sound of birds chirping, butterflies tweeting and deer wandering around.

Better still, you can choose between an indoor or outdoor ceremony and reception, which is perfect for nature lovers.

Our easily accessible destination wedding venue

The South Downs National Park is in the heart of the South East, bordering the counties of Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. It’s easy to access, and your guests will have no issues making travel arrangements.

Your guest can also stay in the same location, as there are so many hotels and bed and breakfasts that are part of the national park, so you won’t have to worry about accommodation.

No wedding would be complete without an after-party, and we certainly offer you just that. Our unique venue is the perfect place to host a post-wedding bash, and the party package is full of glitz and glamour.

You have exclusive use of our entire venue, and we’ll deck it out with your chosen decorations. All your guests will love celebrating with you, and there will be plenty of dancing, fun photographs and alcohol.

A glimpse of your day

We specialise in weddings and offer a truly bespoke service for each couple. When you choose Southdowns Manor, you get support from a dedicated wedding coordination team to help you plan each element of your day.

From how your guests will get to the venue to finding hotels for extended family and friends to stay in, we're always on your side and commit ourselves to providing you with a superb experience.

You can also choose a red or cream aisle and different colour sashes for your chairs, which will merge with your decorations.

Here's just a glimpse of how your day will look.

The ceremony

When the bridal party arrives, you can go to the changing room and prepare your vows. You and your bridesmaids will have exclusive use of them from 10 am as we add the final touches to your ceremony room.

Some people choose to have an indoor wedding, while others like to be outside, surrounded by nature. If you do choose an outdoor ceremony, rest assured that we can make changes immediately should the weather take a turn for the worse.

Once you share your vows and take your first steps into married life, you and your guests will have a pre-reception prosecco or beer.

We also have a log fire to relax in front of, and your photographer will capture each moment of the ceremony and use our grounds to take photos that you’ll look back on.

Sit down to a delicious wedding breakfast

You have two choices for a wedding breakfast; a three-course meal or a bowl selection with a dessert cart. We cater to all dietary needs and will make sure your vegan and vegetarian guests have plenty of delicious options to choose between.

The wedding breakfast is also the perfect opportunity to catch up with guests you haven’t seen in a while and eat until your heart’s content.

The wedding reception

The prosecco flows and your guests will share speeches to kick off your wedding celebration. Now it’s time to party, and a vodka jelly shot will get your guests in the mood to bust some moves on the dancefloor.

You have exclusive use of our in-house DJ, who will ensure your big day goes off with a bang. The DJ will tailor the music to your requirements, including retro, rock music and cheesy pop (who doesn’t love a bit of YMCA at a reception?)

Country buffet

Each adult guest will also get half a bottle of wine to enjoy, but if you feel that you’d like more alcohol, we can offer this for an extra charge. The country buffet features traditional British fayre, including:

  • Mini Lincolnshire sausages
  • Spicy potato wedges with dip
  • Mini quiche
  • Crisps
  • Mini pizzas
  • Chicken goujons

We can also cater for people with special dietary needs, so please tell us if any guests have allergies or have to eat gluten-free.

Special touches

The special touches with your wedding reception make all the difference, and we offer some extras that add some magic to the occasion. Love lights immediately add glitz and glamour to your reception room, and you can have some fun with the unique ‘pimp your own’ prosecco cart.

All your guests can also have some fun with a selfie pod or magic mirror, which is about letting loose and taking wacky photos with your loved ones.

You can also invite guests to try their luck with the casino and have a lively night filled with laughter, dancing and sumptuous food.

Southdowns Manor isn’t like most traditional wedding venues. Yes, we have a stunning manor house, and we’re nestled in the heart of the South Downs countryside, but our wedding venue has a contemporary twist.

The decor is the epitome of modern minimalist, and our elegant function rooms add an air of sophistication to your ceremony and reception. You and your wedding party can enjoy the best of both worlds, and there truly is something for everyone at our wedding venue.

A perfect wedding reception venue for all couples

Love is love, and we don’t discriminate against any couples. Whether you’re having a same-sex wedding or a cultural celebration, you’re always welcome at Southdowns Manor. Our team treats all guests respectfully, and you’ll feel at home from the minute you step through the door.

We’re also close to St Georges’s church, in the heart of Trotton village. The church is a grade 1 listed building, and our planners can help you with the arrangements.

Beautiful guest rooms

Our manor house can comfortably accommodate your family and closest friends, with 14 lavish rooms for overnight stays.

The honeymoon suite has a magnificent four-poster bed, a large circular bath and a walk-in shower, including traditional decor to give you the tranquillity you need after a night of dancing and drinking.

We also offer two guest suites with all the required amenities, and both have spectacular views of our private grounds. Your other guests can stay in our smaller rooms, with a double bed and unique interiors.

Our enviable location means you won’t have to worry about your other guests, because there are plenty of hotels nearby. If you’d like some help, please ask your dedicated event planner for information on nearby accommodation.

Revel in nature with your wedding party

Our cosy venue has well-manicured private grounds that are the perfect place to relax and unwind. However, many of our guests choose to explore the abundant countryside in the national park.

We have incredible opportunities to spot endangered species, including the greater mouse-eared bat and sundew plants. You might also see deer grazing on the grass and sampling their favourite plants.

Our conservation efforts also mean that you can catch a glimpse of the Adonis blue butterfly, a highly endangered species that made itself a home on our doorstep.

There’s so much to see here, including some excellent hiking trails to brush away the cobwebs after a night of partying.

Our partnership with local suppliers ensures you get the freshest seasonal produce, vibrant flowers for your wedding ceremony and eco-friendly paper.

As part of our commitment to preserving the park, we also plant a tree in honour of your wedding. It’s a great way to celebrate because you’re beginning a new life together while preserving life for future generations.
