Bird Feeder Wedding Favours
We love the idea of making your own wedding favours that your guests will love and we thought this would be great project to keep you busy and have lots of fun.
Vintage tea cups and saucers can make a quirky bird feeder.
What you will need:
- Lard, suet or solid vegetable fat (this last option is great for vegetarian-friendly feeders)
- Wild bird seed, oats, breadcrumbs, sultanas, currants, unsalted peanuts (you don’t need all of these, a mixture of any is fine)
How to make your wedding favour bird feeder:
- First you need to mix your dry ingredients in a bowl. We’ve found that a ratio of about 2 parts dry to 1 part fat/suet works well.
- Melt the lard or suet in a saucepan, then add it to your dry ingredients and stir until everything is well mixed.
- Once your ingredients are well-mixed, leave them to cool a little while and then add to your china cup.
- Once you’ve filled all your cups, put them in the fridge to set. This can take quite a while; we recommend to leave them overnight.
- If you are going to use the cup and saucer as we have then we suggest to use epoxy resin or a high-performance glue to stick them together.
We would love to see any that you make… Enjoy
