Wedding trends for 2019
Planning your wedding for 2019 and in search of some inspiration? Today we’re helping you out by looking at some of the hottest wedding trends for this year…
Low flower arrangements
Out with the elaborate big floral centrepieces, in with low flower arrangements that set a sophisticated tone while making it easier for guests to chat across the table during your wedding breakfast. The same trend goes for your aisle decorations.
Decorate with foliage
Why stop at flowers? We’re seeing an increasing interest in decorating using foliage and even small trees for a natural look that complements flower displays. You could even put fairy lights in the trees or shrubs for a whimsical, romantic vibe.
Coral colour scheme
Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019 is the “vibrant yet mellow” Living Coral, a colour Pantone says, “embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.” Perfect for summer weddings, this shade of pinky-orange is an ideal basis for your colour scheme, from bridesmaids’ dresses to bouquets of flowers.
Plastic-free weddings
The surge of interest in the impact of plastics on the natural world continues into 2019 and looks set to be a priority for eco-conscious couples. Going plastic-free and zero waste is just one of the ‘green’ trends we’re seeing in weddings at the moment. Whether it’s serving food made from local ingredients or swapping favours for charity donations, more and more couples are choosing to make their wedding as ethical as possible.
Illustrated invitations
Everyone loves receiving a wedding invitation in the post, and the trend at the moment is to go to town with beautiful bespoke illustrations. These are a great way of personalising your wedding stationery – not just the invitations, but continuing the theme in your table plan, place cards and orders of service.
Bridesmen and Best Women
Who says your bridesmaids have to be women, or your Best Man has to be a man? Your bridal party should be made up of your closest friends, regardless of their gender, and we’re seeing more and more couples choosing to defy convention by having bridesmen or Best Women. It’s your wedding – you don’t have to be traditional!
