Their two-day event was a beautiful union – the pair and their wedding party were so full of warmth and joy. Their attention to detail and styling were so true to them, with the smallest of details being carefully accounted for.

Falling In Love With Southdowns Manor

When it came to choosing the perfect wedding venue for Jonny and Lisa, it seemed like our venue was their match made in heaven!

Unable to pinpoint just one specific thing that made them fall in love with Southdowns Manor, the pair shared a handful of reasons they said ‘I do’ to our venue: “The exclusivity, the remoteness, the attention to detail, the staff… the list goes on!”

A Two-Day Wedding In February

The month of February can sometimes be overlooked by couples when booking a wedding date. However, it can be one of the best times of the year to tie the knot.

February has all the magic of winter, but comes with an added benefit – those little hints that spring is just on the horizon. Not to mention that it’s the perfect time to celebrate love, with Valentine’s Day falling in the middle of the month too!

February offered our newlyweds the perfect backdrop for wedding day, and it also allowed them to extend their celebrations to two days at our venue. This meant arriving on the afternoon of the day before the wedding day and spending quality time with loved ones before the main event the following day. What could be more fun and romantic?

Theme & Styling

Jonny and Lisa wanted a timeless aesthetic for their wedding day, and described their theme as being “elegant, subtle and intimate”. This meant incorporating clean lines and minimalist finishing touches. Their choice of sheer chair sashes, cream aisle carpet and fairy light-decorated trees in our indoor ceremony space created a cosy and welcoming atmosphere.

Lisa looked beautiful in a sleeveless A-line gown with a plunging neckline, sleek up-do and pearl-accented gold accessories. Her veil was particularly striking, embellished with tiny little pearls that perfectly finished off her look.

Jonny similarly came dressed to impress, donning a sharp double-breasted black suit, green tie and a buttonhole that matched the bridal bouquet.

The couple opted for seasonal flowers for their special day, incorporating lots of lush greens, coupled with clean whites and bursts of bright oranges and peaches.

Jonny and Lisa’s wedding cake was homemade and presented in a two-tier design. It was decorated in a trendy semi-naked style with lashings of buttercream and was delicately embellished with handmade icing flowers.

The Photography

The newlyweds had the brilliant Natasha from NK Photography capturing their big day. Jonny and Lisa wanted lots of natural and candid shots, which Natasha delivered! Her ability to capture the smallest of details and most precious moments effortlessly, while also making sure everyone felt super comfortable, is such a skill.

Stand Out Wedding Moments

Jonny and Lisa shared that the most memorable moments of their big day were, “When we walked into the ceremony room and then later at the wedding breakfast, the room was stunning. It felt homely yet elegant and intimate. We also really loved having exclusive use. It really felt like our own little bubble for two days.”
