Olivia & Kierran’s Rustic May Wedding

It has long been said that rain on your wedding day is a symbol of good luck, as a wet knot is much harder to untie. Luckily for Olivia and Kierran, they ‘tied the knot’ on just such a fresh and rainy spring day back in May.

A little drizzle couldn’t dampen our lovely couple’s spirits! Enveloped in the love and warmth of their nearest and dearest, our newlyweds hosted a beautiful rustic-themed and memorable wedding day with us…

Everything Was Perfect

From the moment you arrive at our intimate wedding venue, our team is on-hand to guide and support you in creating your perfect wedding day.

Our gorgeous bride Olivia shared her experience organising a wedding at Southdowns Manor: “We had such an amazing day, all the guests we’ve seen since the wedding haven’t stopped gushing over how beautiful the wedding was! Everything was perfect; I don’t have a single regret or complaint!”

“The staff were brilliant, the food was delicious, and the venue was stunning. The decorative setup staff were incredible. A big shout-out to Lucy [wedding coordinator], who put up with me for weeks on end, emailing her constantly with updates and ideas!”

Why Southdowns Manor?

Choosing a venue for your perfect day is no easy feat! Every couple has their own criteria when it comes to picking their ideal space to host their wedding. In this case, our newlyweds were wowed by “the gardens, gorgeous reception area, and beautiful outdoor ceremony space.”

A Rustic Wedding Theme

Olivia and Kierran’s chosen theme for their nuptials incorporated all things rustic – a sage green and ivory colour scheme and pretty finishing touches that added an elegant, vintage finish.

Their choice of cream aisle carpet and lanterns adorning their ceremony space made their wedding setting appear timeless and effortlessly chic.

Their wedding flowers incorporated eucalyptus, gypsophila, peonies, dried pampas and bunny tails, all in muted sage and ivory tones for the ultimate rustic wedding vibe.

When it came to their wedding cake, our bride and groom opted for a two-tier cake, one tier being rich red velvet, and the other moreish carrot cake.

What They Wore

Olivia adorned a stunning Martina Liana square-neck gown, with a low back and exquisite lace embellished detailing. Her look was complete with an elegant pearl headband, tousled back braid and floor-length veil.

Kierran wore a smart Marc Darcy navy and champagne suit, complemented by a buttonhole matching the bridal bouquet, and black shoes.

The groomsmen wore matching champagne waistcoats and ties to complement Kierran’s styling, while the bridal party wore sage grey tulle maxi dresses.

Wedding Photography & Videography

Our couple chose the wonderful Carla Mortimer to capture special moments from their wedding day.

“I wanted classic yet whimsical photography,” shared Olivia.

The pair also hired Cleary Wedding Videography to capture raw, in-the-moment footage of their big day: “We wanted the big moments throughout the day with candid moments of our guests and us that we may not have seen as there was so much going on!”

Any Stand-Out Moments?

“Our first dance!” says Olivia.

Advice For Other Couples

When asked what advice Kierran and Olivia would offer other couples looking to tie the knot at Southdowns Manor, they had this to say, “Even if the weather doesn’t go as planned, the indoor ceremony will be just as special as the outdoor one you wanted.”

Rest assured, at our venue, couples have plenty of choice when it comes to ceremony space; come rain or shine, we have plenty of room to accommodate your wedding party. Both our indoor and outdoor spaces make the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos.

Here’s to Mr & Mrs Wilber! Wishing you both a very long and happy marriage.
